परिचयात्मकक्रमसङ्ख्याविषयकः - Regarding Roll Numbers
You need to keep your assigned Roll Number handy on the day of the exam. Without the roll number you will not be able to access the Question Paper. You should have received an email from dlpexams@samskritabharatiusa.org at least a 10 days before the exam date, with a subject line SBDLP XXXX Cycle Confirmation. All your roll numbers should be preceded by the 2 letters “CC" followed by four digit number (CCnnnn).
If you cannot find this email in your inbox, please check Spam folder/Trash folder prior to contacting dlpexams@samskritabharatiusa.org.
IMPORTANT NOTE - If, for any reason, that date and / or time is inconvenient for you, or, if you feel that you are not prepared, you must make sure to convey the same to the DLP Exams team (please respond using your confirmation email as reference.). This applies to all students - whether you apply directly or, whether you belong to a study group / class
व्यवस्थासूचनाविषयकः - Instructions for Online Proctored
The purpose of this page is to provide an overview of how the DLP Exams are conducted online with video proctoring.
DLP Exams are conducted as a time-based online exam question paper and video proctoring. What this means is:
Students will click on the GoToMeeting (or Zoom) link (will be sent on the day of the exam), and turn their video on. A DLP-identified invigilator, who is hosting a Video Conferencing Room, will monitor (proctor) the examinees.
Students will view the question paper (QP) online through a given link (will be sent on the day of the exam).
The question paper is displayed with a timer (exam duration) that starts counting down (showing remaining time).
Students write the answers (using a black or blue pen) on blank regular/ruled paper (as with an in-person exam).
At the end of the allocated time, the window displaying the question paper automatically closes.
The students shall then scan the hand-written answer sheets and email them to dlpexams@samskritabharatiusa.org
While this setup has been tested for several exam cycles, there are bound to be a few technical/logistical glitches. We humbly request that all examinees be considerate and patient if any issues are encountered.
1. Please make sure you have good internet connectivity throughout the duration of the exam.
2. A regular scanner OR a scanner app on your smartphone.
3. Laptop or any other device with a working camera - Throughout the duration of the exam video should be turned ON and the mic ON (we will mute it remotely) (Once the exam starts, you may message the proctor).
4. Assigned Roll Number (keep this handy). This is an important piece of information that is needed to begin the exam. If you don't remember the Roll Number, please refer to the confirmation email you received from dlpexams@ with a subject line of SBDLP XXXXX Exam Confirmation.
5. Make sure you print the cover sheet (or format a hand-written copy with the required information) and keep it ready beforehand.
6. Make sure you have ample blank sheets (A4/Letter size) for writing the answers.
1. BE ON TIME - Open the VideoConferencing link (that you will receive separately) upto 30 minutes before 5:00 PM ET on the scheduled date of the exam so that the proctor can provide a few instructions before your examination.
2. At the scheduled time of the exam, open the link DLP Exam Gateway (Link will actually be available 5 minutes earlier. If you open anytime before that, you may get an error message that the link is invalid.
3. Enter the Assigned Roll Number, and your last name, and press the "Click to Pull the Information" button. Remember the Roll Number is case sensitive (CCnnnn, not ccnnnn). The system will validate the roll number and display your name and exam name for confirmation.
4. Ensure your exam name is correct, and click the Proceed to Exam Button.
5, The system will take you to another window to display the appropriate question paper. The countdown timer would start the moment the new window is opened. You can only view the question paper (able to scroll up and down), but you will not be able to download or make a copy of it.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
(a) The maximum time allowed for Pravesha/Parichaya/Shiksha/Kovida is 3 hours. If, for any reason, you arrive late, your time available would be reduced accordingly. (e.g., if you arrive 10 mins late, then you will have only 2 hrs 50 mins).
(b) The maximum time allowed for Pravesha-1 (or -2) /Parichaya-1 (or -2) is 2.5 hours. If, for any reason, you arrive late, your time available would be reduced accordingly. (e.g., if you arrive 10 mins late, then you will have only 2 hrs 20 mins).
6. At the end of the time limit (the Countdown timer becomes 0), the system would automatically close the question paper (and that is your indication to stop writing).
1. You will use a regular pen/paper to write the answers. (Except for a few special cases who would handwrite the answers using an iPad tablet, following prior communication).
2. You must first print and fill out the cover sheet (or make a handwritten copy with the required information) and keep it ready before the exam begins.
3. Answer sheets must be written on standard A-4 Size or Letter Size white paper OR ruled paper. PLEASE DO NOT mix white paper and ruled paper.
4. You can write on both sides of the paper as long as the paper is thick enough. Thin papers, when written on both sides, make the sheets illegible.
5. PLEASE DO NOT USE previously printed-on papers (that is, one-sided stationery) as answer sheets to write your answers. These make the scanning illegible and may invalidate your answers.
6. At the end of the exam (after the allotted time has expired), pick up your answer sheets, make sure they are properly ordered and within 30 minutes, scan the answer sheets (all sheets) into a single PDF and email it to dlpexams@samskritabharatiusa.org . Please reply to your exam registration confirmation email for this purpose. And, name the file with your roll number, including ‘CC’.
Please CC yourself in the email so that you know exactly what the evaluators will see.
1. Please put away books and reference material. DLP Exams are NOT open-book exams. Please make sure the area where you are taking the exam (desk, table, etc.) is clear so that the proctor has a clear view.
2. Be visible (including the writing surface) to the invigilator at all times during the exam
3. It is recommended that you keep all the things you might need (water bottle, etc.) within reach so that you don't leave the view of the camera during the exam.
तन्त्रांशसिद्धताविषयकः - Browser Compatibility Test
The purpose of this page is to provide instructions on how to ensure your web browser can access the Online Question Paper correctly.
We strongly encourage all the students to please download the document and practice the mock test well before the exam, and get familiarized with the exam format.
Please download the document and follow the steps.
PLEASE NOTE: The questions that will be displayed during this test are only a mock set of questions (you do not need to answer them). These do not reflect the actual questions you will see on the real exam. Our objective here is to ensure that the browser on the device you will be using to take the exam is able to display the questions and other information correctly.
यन्त्रांशसिद्धताविषयकः - Online Meeting Setup
The purpose of this page is to provide instructions on how to set up your Camera for GoToMeeting/Zoom Links. The main objective for the video proctoring is that the DLP Invigilator should be able to see the examinee and the writing area all the time while the exam is in progress.
If the examinee needs to take a short break during the exam, they are free to do so, but must ensure the video is kept in position so that the proctor would be able to view the exam area.
Please download the document and follow the steps:

पाठविषयकः - Study Material Preparedness
The purpose of this page is to provide some tips about the Study Material for your exam
Please copy a samskritam paragraph from any printed matter. Review for
अ. Clarity in your writing
आ. Accuracy of your work
Pick a few words from the same passage and write your own sentences for each of the words.
The question paper (QP) will contain questions covering the material from the prescribed textbook. There are two sample question papers at the back of the book. More samples are provided on our website (under Syllabus and Samples).
Although DLP will try to add more sample question papers along with suggested answers, students must remember that the way questions are asked will be varied, thereby testing the students' comprehension of the material rather than simply memorizing the answers.
We have organized the question paper into the grammar (व्याकरणम्) portion and the language (भाषा) portion. Starting NOV2021, we would expect at least 50% score in each part, while the combined score would be 60% to PASS the exam. Please note that this arrangement is not to be mistaken for the split syllabus.
Please click here to view a few possible ways in which questions could come up based on the study material (the DLP books) (Pravesha material illustrated)
